A Critique Evening with the theme ‘Environmental Portrait‘.
* Imagine a trawler fisherman or woman dressed in their sea-faring clothing, standing next to a huge net, bulging with fish.

* Imagine that same person, again in sea-faring clothing, standing in the queue at a fish and chip shop.

* Imagine that same person – but now stood next to a wrecked boat.

The environment surrounding a portrait can easily tell a story, often more poignant and far greater than the portrait alone.

This evening’s theme –  ‘Environmental Portrait’, asks you to present a portrait of a person – contained within a particular environment or background that tells us something about them.

The photograph must be yours, either recent or from your archive.

The assessment will be taking the form of discussion, questioning how successfully the theme has been achieved as well as other aspects of what makes the photograph successful – or not.

Images should be submitted by midnight, Sunday 18 January.
