Critique evening March 31, 2026

Date: 31/03/2026 • Venue: Hove Methodist Church – Main Hall

This evening’s critique evening will be with an external assessor – well known to BHCC and well liked. Expect it to be stimulating!

Having visited us before and being familiar with our members’ work, he has suggested that an Open Theme would suit us very well.

He also wrote: –

       “I am interested and relieved to know that you have done away with grading. What is important to me is that the image should be engaging and interesting and: 
       – Atmospheric, emotional illustration of life, features of environment, way of life  
       – if there is a message/story, it should be successfully conveyed
      – should demonstrate innovation, creativity, individuality in approach
      – show good technical achievement (but not necessarily flawless, as the image content is equally important)”

General Practicalities
The images will be shown as digital projected images (DPI).
Your images may be colour or black & white.

Preparing your images

  • The file must be in JPEG format with a 3 character file extension of .jpg
  • The maximum width allowed is 1920 pixels (px).
  • The maximum height allowed is 1080px.
  • The minimum width and height allowed is 900px.
  • The maximum file size is 1MB.
  • Colour Space set to sRGB

File Naming – Name the file with the image title

Please ensure the name you enter on the upload form matches the name of your file.
