Sam Faulkner – Photographing without Borders
A few days after his last exams, Sam Faulkner threw a battered Canon and a handful of rolls of Tri-X into a Billingham and headed to Afghanistan. It was 1994. With no plan beyond making photographs, he began a career that started in reportage and has since moved between front-line work, fashion and fine art.
In this talk, Sam traces a 30-year journey through contrasting worlds, sharing images, stories from the road, and the practical realities behind the pictures: access, trust, editing, and how a personal style survives when the context keeps changing.
