Summer 2025 – Butterflies photoshoot

It is very exciting to have added this new butterfly photoshoot to our summer activities,  organised  by Al Punja.

If you are interested in photographing butterflies and insects, then meet at Castle Hill in Woodingdean on Saturday 12 July, at 09:30 (before it gets too hot) on the large expanse of mown grass 300m down Bexhill Road opposite house number 140.

You can park for free on Bexhill Road or at the Castle Hill carpark on Falmer Road.

A macro lens is helpful, tripods are unnecessary. Wear sturdy shoes and long trousers as some paths are overgrown with brambles and long grasses. Also bring water. Be prepared for a steep uphill climb on the way back.

Al was there today and saw plenty of butterflies.

Possible future dates are not yet set and will be weather dependant  – thus can only be announced a few days in advance. Al will be using the Club’s WhatsApp to advise of date, time and place and they will also be announced here.

No need to book – just turn up.
